Bridge Structural Pylon Repairs

In a marine environment concrete is really put to the test.

The bridge was constructed in 1963 and after more than 50 years of tidal, salt water contamination, the stress cables finally gave way.

Following repairs to the concrete the pylon was wrapped in Carbon Fibre to strengthen and increase the load bearing capacity.

This project was completed in 4 days working off floating pontoons.
